Who says humanities graduates can’t find jobs? Not Dana Thorne (formerly Johnson – which she uses in the video)! Thorne completed an undergraduate degree in History, and later completed the Public History program at Western University. The program was followed by a 4-month internship at the Owen Museum of Canada, which segued into her job at the Lambton County Archives where she work as the Lambton Room Historian/Archivist. Watch her video below for ideas on where a history degree could take you!
Update: Since this video was recorded in 2011, Dana has continued to work as the Archivist at the Lambton County Archives. She is participating in the publication of an upcoming book celebrating the centennial of Sarnia’s incorporation as a city, and is involved in local heritage initiatives, including chairing the steering committee for Doors Open Lambton County. Congratulations Dana!
